Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Science Intern to join our team in Shanghai. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with our finance and sales teams on a cutting-edge project aimed at revolutionizing our on-demand spares forecast process using machine learning. The successful candidate will have the chance to apply their skills in statistics, Python, and R to develop a prototype model that will enhance the accuracy and efficiency of our forecasting efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

- Analysis of Current Forecast Process: Conduct a thorough analysis of the existing on-demand spares forecast process, identifying areas for potential improvement.

- Research and Evaluation of ML Algorithms: Investigate and assess various machine learning algorithms to determine their suitability for on-demand spares forecasting.

- Model Development: Develop a prototype machine learning model that predicts spares demand based on historical data and other relevant factors for specific global accounts.

- Testing and Refinement: Test and refine the performance of the machine learning model, incorporating feedback from finance, sales, and other key stakeholders.

- Documentation and Presentation: Document the entire process and present your findings to the team and management, providing insights for further discussion and potential implementation.

    Qualifications:

    - Educational Background: Second-year graduate students are pursuing a degree in Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.

    - Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python and R, with a strong understanding of statistical analysis and machine learning algorithms.

    - Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex processes and identify opportunities for improvement.

    - Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

    - Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including finance and sales.

    - Experience with data modeling and forecasting in a business context.

    - Knowledge of the semiconductor industry or experience with spares forecasting is a plus.
