We are looking for a Field Service Engineer, who will support our customer and our team in Catania (Italy), guaranteeing the best performance of Applied Material's Equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and guarantee all levels of preventative and corrective maintenance on the hardware part of the machinery.

  • Installation and calibration of the Robots.

  • Management of equipment performance and supply of spare parts.

  • Supporting in Troubleshooting activities and fix technical issues on the automation part of the equipment.

  • Diagnoses and resolves hardware issues through understanding of software and process data as needed.

  • Performs upgrades and retrofits on equipment.

  • Understands and implement correct work methodologies and procedures as per company and customer quality standards.

  • Anticipates and responds to equipment issues and escalations in a timely manner.

  • Collaborates and communicates with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Participates in internal and customer meetings.

  • Within assigned scope, assist management in operation of site service business.  

  • Assists Applied Materials field management in establishing and achieving objectives for assigned account.

  • Keeps field management informed on customer perception of system performance.  

  • Takes initiative to avoid and resolve customer problems.  

  • May occasionally initiate projects to drive down costs or increase uptime.

  • May work in shift depending on assignment.

  • Travel flexibility is required, we estimate 20% per year maximum.

Hardware & Soft Skills:

  • Ability in programming robots and automatic machinery.

  • Knowledge in Linux and Windows Networking.

  • Knowledge in IoT eg: Raspberry, Arduino or Esp 32 environment.

  • Additional capabilities welcomed: advanced software skills, industrial automation, problem solving through software analysis, software coding, Server administration, Computer analyst.

Soft Skills:

  • Ability into interact in a professional manner with colleagues and customers.

  • Communicates and presents effectively technical content in a clear manner during customer meetings.

  • Oriented to team leading and service to customers.

  • Objective and data driven approach.

  • Plan and organize work tasks properly and by priorities.

  • Ability to communicate in a global organization.

  • Explains technical information within the team and with supporting AMAT network of experts.
